The sling is the part of a lift system that actually touches the person — and choosing the wrong one is the most common cause of an unsafe or uncomfortable transfer.
Full-body slings support the whole person including the head for users with no trunk control. Divided-leg and hygiene slings open underneath for toileting without a full re-sling. Standing slings wrap the trunk for sit-to-stand lifts. Repositioning slings work for moving a user up the bed. Each comes in several sizes and in mesh (bath-safe) or padded fabric.
